Dick's and Asian Art

Nick's Social Studies class formed a 'traveling museum group' and went to their first museum on Sunday to the Crow Collection of Asian Art in downtown Dallas. It was a little freaky since Trammell Crow died Wednesday.

Anyway, we all went to the museum. Before the private tour, we decided to go to lunch downtown. What could be more fun than Dick's Last Resort? The kids thought it was funny that the waitress was rude. Then she made them all hats and they were a little embarrassed. Nick's said, "Booger King." Austin's said, "I heart Hannah Montana." Lauren's said, "I kiss boys with cooties!" And Mackenzie's said, "I like to hide under the covers and smell my own farts!"

After we were cultured at Dick's, we headed over to the Crow Collection. I must admit that I am not a big museum person. It was hard to stay awake. But the items were pretty neat. The little snuff bottles were probably my favorite. Here are the kids in front of the building.

Guess that's it for now. I still need to show you Christmas pictures and the pictures from my trip to Louisiana. Will work on that! But for now, here's some music. Marty brought me home the new Pink CD today (thank you Marty!) so I'll play my favorite song from the CD: Sober
