Thanksgiving ... and other stuff!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American friends! And since I know there are quite a few Canadians reading this ... happy Thursday! I hope you're having fun shoveling snow! Just kidding. It's actually really cold here today, too. We were in the 80's all last week and then yesterday a cold front blew in and it's only 42° right now. Brrrrr! It's days like this that I sure don't miss living in Canada!
We had a fairly uneventful Thanksgiving. I got up and put the turkey in the oven at about 6:30am and then went back to sleep. My mom and stepdad came over at about noon and we had a nice lunch. I'm not very fancy ... just turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, stuffing and rolls. Mom brought some cranberry sauce and a pumpkin pie. Lauren and Mackenzie both ate quite a bit of turkey. Austin tried a little (with ketchup!) and, of course, Nick refused to eat anything. But all of the kids loved the rolls! Mackie said he ate 15 rolls! He's going to explode. We didn't monitor them very carefully because we sat them in the kitchen and the adults ate in the dining room. Here are a few pictures.
Mom isn't really as short as this picture makes her look. She didn't have on shoes and my shoes had a little heel on them. After lunch, the guys went upstairs and watched football and Mom and I sat downstairs and talked while we had a glass of wine. It was a good visit.
The song today has absolutely no relevance to Thanksgiving or anything. I just like it. The Verve Pipe: The Freshmen

I'm off to watch the Cowboys win! Have a great day.

  1. I love your family pictures Robyn! I wish I could sit with my mom with a glass of wine... But our decision was staying here in CAN though it wasn't easy to leave the whole family at my homecountry. So enjoy every moment like this to the fullest!
    Hugs!

Looks like a nice, enjoyable relaxing day...with the exception of getting Nick to eat! I've been hoping he was feeling a little better lately. Maybe the 4 day vaca did him some good?
