Take a look at this forecast!
The weather report has looked like this all summer! Not good at all for getting a tan! It has literally rained almost every day for months. It's hard to believe that this time last year we were in a 2-year drought. Take a look at these statistics: Tuesday's storms puts the rainfall total for 2007 at 30.16 inches, which eclipses the mark for the entire year of 2006 when 29.75 inches were recorded. In 2005, only 18.97 inches of rain were recorded in North Texas.
Six Flags even flooded yesterday. Here's a good article on all of this rain.
In other news, I flooded my brand new house this morning!! LOL! Yes, I started a load of laundry and then took a shower. When I got out of the shower, there was about an inch of water from the laundry room, down the hall, in one bathroom, partly in the foyer and making its way into the kitchen! Luckily all of this is tiled and only a little got on the carpet. But what a big mess! It was one of those messes that you don't even know where to begin to start cleaning. I've only experienced this two other times in my life. The first time was when I went to wake Austin up from his nap when he was about 18 months old and he had finger-painted his whole bedroom ... with POOP! The other time also involved water and it was when Lauren and Mackenzie decided to play fireman with the kitchen sink sprayer. All good times. But the end result today was fine. It took me about 45 minutes to vacuum up all of the water with the wet/dry vacuum. Some of the edges of the carpet are still damp but they will dry so no harm done. Now we just need to figure out what happened. I'm leaving that to Marty tonight. Hopefully one of the hoses is just loose.
Well, that was too exciting! How about a little rain music. Here's one of my favorite songs from my college days. So sad that this band got caught lip syncing and then one of the guys killed himself several years ago. A quick decline from top to bottom ... Milli Vanilli. Just click the play button twice.
I think I see a break in the clouds. Maybe we'll make a run for the pool before another downpour begins!
Hope the rain stops soon. One thing I look forward too in the summer is tanning...Have a nice one already and summer is just starting. We should of had rain 2 days last week but it didn't come. So when it does it will be a big one.
