I have never claimed to be a good cook. But for some reason I have been cooking the Thanksgiving meal for the last several years and it always turns out pretty good. Nothing fancy ... just food. This year's menu: turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce (made from real cranberries), cornbread muffins and rolls. I started cooking at about 9 o'clock this morning and the meal was on the table at 12:30. Here's the turkey. Terrible picture. Looks more like a chicken. Maybe I'll get a bigger one next year.
And, of course we need a picture of all the food on the table and then the adults around the table (the kids ate at the other table).
After we ate, Marty and Gil (my step-dad) went upstairs to watch football and mom and I hung out and talked. Happy sat with us for a while. She's such a sweet dog!
And before Mom and Gil left, we had to get all of the important pictures! Here's Marty and me, Gil and Mom, and Mom and me.
Time to load the dishwasher ... again! I think we've run it three times today! I sure am glad we don't have to wash all those dishes by hand. It's hard for me to believe that when Marty and I first moved to Canada, we didn't have a dishwasher in the house we rented (for over a year!).
The boys all decided to spend the night with Grandma tonight so I got a picture with them all before they left. And I needed one with Lauren, too! These kids are, and always will be, the top 4 things I am thankful for! Marty and I are truly blessed beyond measure!
And finally, I just needed this picture of Daddy and his little girl. She is such a toot but she sure knows how to get her way.
Tonight we have just girls in the house ... so weird! Lauren has a friend spending the night. Maybe I'll actually do something girly with them. Could be fun but I'm am just not a girly-girl. I'll let you know how that goes. :)
Signing off from this beautiful Thanksgiving day with some music. I love this song. It just makes me happy and it reminds me that I have some special people in my life that I am truly thankful for.

I Could Fly
~Keith Urban
I wanna thank you for the love that you give me
And the sun that you put in my sky
You don't know how much you've lifted me up
But I feel so alive
That I could fly
There's no way I could've made it this far
Without you
You came to me just when I needed someone to believe
That I could make it through
And you gave me back
The love I had
The faith I'd lost
The life I knew

It looks like you had a very Happy Thanksgiving, Robyn! You got some fantastic photos and your turkey (plus all the trimmings) turned out beautifully.
