My good friend Michelle Godin put out an impromptu call a couple of days ago for people to create a layout with a new kit she had coming out. I have not scrapped in a long time and I love Michelle and her designs, so I answered her call. But she wrote me and said that she didn't pick me as one of the winners! But she had a reason ... she said it "felt like nepotism or something" if she picked me. So I wasn't included on the official list of winners but she did send me the links to her new kit. It's called Love My Boy and she just added it to her store last night. Very cool kit. Go buy it! At first I thought about scrapping a heritage picture because that's what I am most comfortable scrapping. But then I decided that I haven't made any pages of my kids in a long time (especially the boys ... Lauren has plenty!). And since the name of the kit is Love My Boy, it seemed to make sense to scrap some boys! I used elements from a couple of Michelle's other kits as well. For full credits, click here.
So here we have the end result. This is Nick and Austin looking like they like each other. I love it when that happens! This picture was actually taken on the last day of College For Kids during Nick and Austin's golf class. It was so HOT that day (like 104°) but I went out and hit some balls with them. And Daddy even ditched work for a little while to join in the fun. Here are a few more pictures. The boys learned the proper grip and swing. Check out that last picture ... Nick could hit the ball pretty far!
And so could Marty. He actually almost hit the flag way out in the field. And then there was me. Now you have to understand ... they were out of tees to put the ball on. So it's understandable that I wiffed a couple of shots. OK - that's not a real excuse. The truth is I suck at golf! There. I said it. I have never actually played golf. However, I am excellent at driving around a golf cart!
I guess that's all I have for today. Here are the previews of Michelle's new Love My Boy kit. You can buy the papers and elements separately ... or you can buy the complete kit. She also has just the alpha set available by itself.
I couldn't think of any good golf songs for today. And while I was searching for one on YouTube, I kept running across songs by a group called Golf and Mike. They are brothers from Thailand. They record in Thai, Korean, English and Japanese. They are a teeny-bopper group. Lauren came and listened and loved them. Here is Lauren's favorite. It's their first Japanese debut single: Nippon Ai Ni Ikuyo
