We spent our second day in California in Newport Beach. We went to Crystal Cove Beach. It was gorgeous but the water was FREEZING! I can't believe the kids got in. Marty and I mostly laid out on the beach while the kids played in the water and in the sand. Sounds great but if you recall from my previous post ... the airline lost one of our bags. It still had not been returned to us when we went to the beach and that was the bag with all of the sunblock in it. Well... we went to the hotel lobby and were just going to buy some there. But it was $12 for a small tube! No way!!! So we went to the beach without any sunscreen. Shhhh! It wasn't really a problem for me and the kids because we've been in the sun so much this summer. But it was a BIG problem for Marty! I felt so bad for him. He was sooo red!
Anyway, you don't have to put up with too much chatter from me today. Bring on the pictures!
WOW! I didn't realize how many pictures I took at the beach! Well ... you get the idea. We had fun! Only one disaster happened the whole day (with the exception of Marty's sunburn). I must have gotten some sand in my ear buds and the rest of the trip whenever I would listen to my iPod, it had a weird rattling sound in my right ear. Don't know why I felt the need to tell you that but now you know!
And now for your listening pleasure. I actually put a lot of thought into the music for this post. But I have settled on Blake Shelton: Some Beach. I chose it because I know Dad likes this song. And I was reading Mom's blog the other day (look at the July 14th post) and she had the lyrics on there.
IN OTHER NEWS...
Our gym in Little Rock was featured on KATV Channel 7. Sooo exciting! Here's the clip. The kids are so cute and it's great to see Miss Jennifer. I can't believe it's been 5 years since we worked together!
