As promised, there will be no Lauren layouts today! And like I told you a couple of days ago, we are all about baseball in the England house these days! Because of the rain last week, we were scheduled for games on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. However, it rained so much that the fields were still too muddy to play on Tuesday night. But both Austin and Nick got their games in last night. Austin's team lost and Nick's won. Marty got home from out of town at around 9:00pm last night and came and got Lauren and Mackenzie so they didn't have to stay at the field the whole time. And tonight, Marty took the boys because it's another late game. I'm kind of sad though because I haven't missed any games yet this year. I shot a couple of pictures before they left just a few minutes ago.
We went to the Rangers' game on Sunday. Of course we were a little late but it turned out ok because there was a 20 minute rain delay before the game even started so we were right on time. We headed to where we thought our seats were but then realized they were in a different section. Somehow we ended up with the best seats we have ever had. We were in the second row right by first base. Very cool! Just look at these pictures. That's really how close we were. I wasn't even zoomed in on the players. They were only like 15 feet from us. And I know that's a terrible picture of the kids but it's the only one I took with all four of them in it. Nick is making a weird face and Austin looks drunk!
Back to the game ... In the second inning, Austin and Mackenzie decided they needed to go to the bathroom so Marty took them. And then about 5 minutes later, the downpour started. There was no warning. It just started raining buckets. So Lauren, Nick and I had to gather all of the stuff and run! Of course we had no idea where Marty and the boys were so when we got to a dry place, I called him and heard my purse ringing. Marty had put his phone in my purse. We were so prepared! But it worked out. We hung out until we found them and then walked around during the hour and 15 minute rain delay. Normally we would have left but our seats were just too good. So when the game finally did start again, the kids were already tired of being there. I think we made it to the 4th inning but did get to see Sammy Sosa hit a homer. And the kids also got to get autographs from the Rangers' Captain (the horse). They are all Junior Rangers and this month's gift was a backpack so they got that autographed.
When we got home, I was in the mood to scrap some baseball pictures and remembered that I had never scrapped Nick's birthday from last year. We paid a little extra and Nick got to be on the Jumbotron. It was really cool. And I'll also post a layout I made a couple of years ago. That's Marty, Nick and Austin right before a game.
Guess that's it for now. Gotta get Lauren and Mackenzie in the bath and then I'll call Marty and see how the boys are playing. The song today has no relevance to anything I have been talking about. It's just a song that I was listening to on the way home from work and I've been singing it all day. The Black Crowes: She Talks To Angels
