My youngest little guy, Mackenzie, is having surgery early tomorrow morning. We have to be at the hospital at 6:15am and surgery is scheduled for 7:45. It's just routine ear surgery. He has some really bad blockage in his right ear that is causing him to have mild to moderate hearing loss. The doctor will remove that and then determine if he needs to put tubes in Mackenzie's ears again. He had a set put in 3 years ago when he was only 3 but it seems he is still having trouble with fluid in his ears. We want to do whatever we can to help Mackenzie so that his hearing loss doesn't become permanent. Even though this is just routine stuff, as a mother, it still scares me. I just spoke with the anesthesiologist and they are not planning on giving him an IV so that is a good thing. But enough rambling. I need to get in bed if I am going to be at the hospital by 6:15. Please include my little guy ... Mackenzie England ... in your prayers today. Here are a few layouts I have created for him recently. As you can see, Mackenzie is quite a character! ReplyDeleteOh Robyn, you poor thing...I had no idea Mac's surgery was this soon, but of course it was, it is almost the end of January! I'm so glad the little thing came out ok, and that the doctor is going to proceed with the catscan...so good to catch this type of thing early! He is a very brave boy! And you are one incredibly brave mama!! :)
ReplyDeleteRobyn, I do hope the CAT scan is clear. I have this condition. It can indeed, lead to serious hearing loss albeit that can be a very slow process. My fingers are crossed, all of them.
