I know, I know ... I still haven't finished my Disneyland post (sorry to keep you hanging Teresa!). But I took the kids to Six Flags yesterday and I just feel like posting these pictures. I know yesterday was our anniversary but Marty and I decided to celebrate next weekend. He promised me a big steak dinner and if you know me, you know how much I love steak! So anyway, back to Six Flags. The kids all got free tickets like they do every year through the Six Flags Six Hour Reading Club. It was really hot so we didn't go until 5 o'clock and we stayed until the park closed at 10:00. We had a blast! It was still really hot when we got there so we started at the Aquaman Splashdown. We had to wait about 20 minutes so we took some pictures. The kids love it when I let them use the camera.
Well, the 20 minutes turned into more like 30 so I took a few close-ups of the kids. Clockwise, we have Nick, Austin, Mackenzie and Lauren. Some lucky orthodontist is going to have a field day with my kids! Cha ching! I should call Dr. Barbre and tell him to be nice to me and I'll bring in all my kids once my braces are off.
As if the ride didn't get us wet enough, the kids decided to stand on the bridge and get more soaked. I opted out of that but was still pretty wet. Some nice lady saw me taking pictures of the kids and told me I needed to be in the picture, too. So here we are.
Fly Me To The Moon-3D is right across from the Aquaman so we headed there next. It's a pretty cool animated show about the Apollo 11 mission and the first astronauts to walk on the moon. The seats move while you watch the movie. Here we all are ... except Austin ... he was sitting too far away from me to get a good picture.
And then we just started walking around. Six Flags is a different experience when Marty doesn't go. He always has a map and a plan. I'm more into walking around and riding whatever we come across. So that's what we did the rest of the day. Here are the kids in the Big Chair. I mean, you have to take a picture in the Big Chair every time you go to Six Flags. And the kids have to take a silly shot every time.
Here we have my favorite picture of the day. This was taken on El Aserradero (the log ride). The kids were getting nervous because they thought I was going to get my camera wet. But all was fine and I got a good picture of the kids.
And then after the sun set, we found several more rides to go on. After about 9pm, there is no one in line anymore and you can do a ton of rides. Here are the kids on Tony Hawk's Big Spin. It is a rollercoaster that spins around as it goes on the track.
As usual, one of our last rides was the Roaring Rapids. I don't know why we always do that because the kids are soaked when they get in the car. But I was smart and brought towels this time. Usually we make them ride home naked! (Shhhhh! Don't tell their friends ... they will be so embarrassed.)
I guess that's it. A good time was had by all. We didn't get home until after 11:00 and I made them all take a bath to get the Six Flags funk off of them so it was a late night. But they all got to sleep in this morning. Well, as much as you can sleep in with men pounding on your roof. (Did I mention we are getting a new roof? Being at home has not been fun for the last few days but they should be done tomorrow.)
Music today is from a Six Flags commercial. It's Mr. Six dancing to Vengaboys: We Like To Party. It's a catchy tune. The kids love to dance to it.
You had a blast for sure, Robyn. LOVE the photo with yellow glasses, you look so cool :)
ReplyDeleteI have to read back your posts to find out how is your summer.
