I've never been one for the clean and simple scrapbook look (à la Cathy Zielske). In fact, I started this page as my week 3 entry for the Scrapbook Graphics Queen of the Crop contest (scrap an everyday moment). However, no matter what elements I dragged onto the layout, it just didn't look right. So I decided that it was done! All there is is a background paper, a photo, some word art and the words to The Pledge of Allegiance. This is my son and a teammate during the Pledge of Allegiance before a baseball game last week. Love this picture!
Background paper is from Michelle Godin's Midnight Roses kit (a freebie on her blog). The word art is from her Play kit at Scrapbook Graphics. Font is Century Gothic. Created in Photoshop CS2.
This looks perfect the way it is. I'm not one for white space either (or black space in this case) but this definitely looks gorgeous.

Very Powerful. I Love it!! It's perfect as is!!
ReplyDeleteI love the use of white space. Sometimes elements don't work with the photo and the photo is better in a 'clean' layout. Gorgeous layout.
ReplyDeletesometimes elements just clutter up a page instead of enhancing it. This is perfect. Congratulations for knowing when NOT to add more.
