Three weekends ago, we decided to go "look" at some houses because we thought it was time to start thinking about moving since we are outgrowing our current house. We ended up finding a house that we absolutely love and is perfect for us. The only problem was that it was in the wrong city. So we did some research and it turns out that builder owns some land where we want to build. So ... last weekend we purchased a lot. And this weekend we put our house on the market! The England's really don't mess around. We just know when something is right! (That's Lauren standing beside the new For Sale sign in our yard.)
Our new home will give us an additional 1,400 square feet. Our bedroom will be downstairs with all of the kids' rooms up. Lauren's room is on the opposite side of the house from all of the boys. There is a game room, a media room, an office and a 3 car garage. We wanted all of these things. It really is just perfect for us and we will stay there until the kids are all out of the house ... so at least 15 years! I have never lived anywhere that long!
Needless to say, we are very excited. We just hope our current house doesn't sell too fast because the new one won't be ready until May and that would leave us homeless! I suppose we would just have to figure something out because that is a better problem to have than having two houses!
On a sidenote, I have advanced to Round 4 in the Scrap Artist Apprentice competition. I am very excited about that as well and the best part is that my good friend Christine (Fiddlette) has also advanced. There are now only 10 people left in the competition. And there will be two people chosen to win so I am getting hopeful. This week's assignment was brushes and hand-drawn doodles. We had to create 2 of each and since drawing is not my specialty, this was kind of hard for me. But I had fun and even learned a few things about Adobe Illustrator in the process. What a cool program!! I can't wait to learn even more! I made this little ATC (Artist Trading Card) with the doodle brushes I created. The full download of my brushes and doodles is available at Scrap Artist. CLICK HERE to go to the download page. Also, Christine and I are hosting a digital ATC swap as our Altered/Collage challenge this week at Scrap Artist. The theme of the swap is RAIN! Each participant will get a zip file of all of the ATC's at the end of the week.
