Grab your add-on freebie!

I posted earlier today that my new kit, Inner Circle Friends, is now available in the Scrap Artist Shoppe. But I got to thinking that it would be fun to give away an add-on! So ... I have created an overlay and an extra paper that coordinate with the kit. Here is a preview:

Click here to download this free gift. No strings attached. And if you haven't already joined the friends of happyrobyn mailing list, be sure to do that. You will get a link to a free kit when you join. [This kit will never be available for sale.] Simply click here to join the fun. We already have over 400 friends! WOW! I never thought I would have that many friends! Thanks to everyone who has already joined. Below is a layout I created with the Friends of happyrobyn kit. (That's my dad and his sisters just a few years ago!)

Inner Circle Friends

A few months ago, my friend Maya sent an email to a group of us and referred to us as her "inner circle friends" and I knew right away that was an awesome kit name and I just happened to be working on this kit at the time and it had a lot of circles in it. So ... it was named for me! Inner Circle Friends is actually one of my favorite kits that I have created. It just all came together well and I love the colors.

I always love to see what you create with my designs. Be sure to send me a link to anything you post with my kits. I can be reached at Robyn@ScrapArtist.com. And if you haven't already signed up for the Friends of happyrobyn mailing list, go do that and recieve a free kit and be kept up-to-date on new products, sales, contests, freebies, etc.

Take a look at some of the layouts created with the Inner Circle Friends kit. Roll your mouse over the thumbnails to see who created the layouts or click them to see bigger pictures.

A new kit!

What if you had a store and nothing in it?! LOL! Well, I plan on resolving that issue very soon. In the next few weeks I will be adding several kits to my Scrap Artist Shoppe. I recently added the Nature kit. This was a fun one to make! It was inspired by a trip to the Dallas Museum of Art. Marty took me to the Louis Comfort Tiffany exhibit for our anniversary and all of his art was inspired by nature and was really beautiful.
I would love to see what you create with my designs.

You're all invited ... and a FREE kit!

"No man is useless while he has a friend."
~Robert Louis Stevenson

As many of you know, I was chosen as one of 5 lucky ladies to sell my designs exclusively at the Scrap Artist shoppe. Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this contest! I promise to have some kits and other items in the shoppe this week. But in the meantime, I have created a newsletter-type mailing list to keep you informed of my new products and freebies and anything else I have going on at my blog. Don't worry, it's not another list where you will get a million emails! Probably this first month you will get one or two a week and then after that, just when something new is happening.

This list is called the "Friends of happyrobyn." And to thank you for joining, I have created a kit EXCLUSIVELY to newsletter members. It will never be available for sale. After you join the list, an email will automatically be sent to you with the link. A preview of the kit is on the left.
Now run on over and join my list. And feel free to invite your friends but please do not give them the link to the kit. Instead, give them the link to the group. To join, go here:

Introducing the happyteam!

I have been waiting for over 2 months to tell the world about my awesome creative team! These 8 ladies have been patiently and lovingly supporting me since before the Apprentice contest started. These women are the most perfect team that I could ever imagine. Not only are they the cream of the crop at scrapping ... they are all just fabulous people. Without further ado ... I present: Becky, Christine, Debra, Emilie, Gerarda, Kim, Kristin and Michelle!

BeckyChristine Debra Emilie
GerardaKim Kristin Michelle

What a beautiful group of women! Let me tell you a little about everyone. (Roll over their pictures to see who they are or click to go to their blog/layout gallery.) Now let me tell you a bit about each member.

Becky (webchyck): What a terrific friend Becky is! Although I met her about a year and a half ago while on Cheryl Barber's creative team, it was not until about 6 months ago that I truly realized what a great person she is while working on the Scrapbook Graphics Creative and Blog Teams together. She is the Editor of the Studio Matters Blog at SBG and never ceases to amaze me!
Christine (Fiddlette): What can I say about Christine? She is my best Internet pal and we have been following each other around for over a year. She is fantastically creative and always willing to lend me an ear when I need it. I am thrilled she has decided to join my team. We have also served together on the Scrap Artist, Scrapbook Graphics and Iron Orchid Designs creative teams. She is my co-host of the Altered/Collage Challenge at Scrap Artist. And she just won a spot selling her designs at Scrap Artist as well! (And she picked me to be on her creative team!) I am lucky to have such a great friend!
Debra (Steinwaysmom): I first noticed Debra's amazing talent when we hosted an altered slide mount challenge at Scrap Artist. And from that day on, I have pretty much followed her every move! Her style is unmistakable. I also had the pleasure of coming up with one of her Quirk names at Digital Art Quirks. A true artist!
Emilie (AmyPunky): What a sweet person! I have gotten to know Emilie through her layouts and her comments on mine. What can I say? Her layouts really speak for themselves. Emilie has such a fun sense of style and I have been having a great time getting to know her even better!
Gerarda (Nevache): If you have not looked through Gerarda's gallery ... you NEED to! Totally incredible! You could easily mistake her for a seasoned graphic artist. I am continually amazed by the layouts that Gerarda comes up with. And to top it off, her journaling is always so honest and thought provoking.
Kim (MissKim): Kim is an icon in digital scrapbooking circles! Her children are almost famous as you can easily recognize them in Kim's layouts. I love Kim's clean scrapping style and look forward to seeing what she creates with my designs.
Kristin (Chicklets): I had never spoken with Kristin when I asked her to be on my team! LOL! I was looking through the Scrap Artist gallery and a layout of hers just jumped out at me and I started looking through her gallery and loved every layout. On a whim, I decided to ask her to join my team and she was the first person I asked! I was so thrilled when she said yes and I have enjoyed getting to know her since then. Just a sweet, sweet person.
Michelle (Mishou): Last, but in no way least ... my great friend Michelle, aka Meesh. She is my Internet little sister. I have thouroughly enjoyed watching her grow up before my eyes! I met her many months ago and she was kind of shy but you could see the talent was there. And then something just clicked and she now creates these fearless pieces of art. This girl is going places! Incredible natural talent. Love you Michelle!!

And the winners are ...

Here is a copy of Michelle Coleman's post from last night:

We are so very thrilled to announce the final five apprentice contestants. This contest was simply amazing to watch, I for one, was blown away by the talent that everyone involved exhibited again and again. These very talented women made choosing extremely hard! But without further ado; here are the final five apprentice winners:
Lisa Whitney, Amber Clegg, Linda Gil Billdal, Robyn England and Christine Honsinger
I am so excited ... not only that I am on there but that my best scrapping buddy Christine (Fiddlette) is there, too! She had the idea of us doing some combo kits ... so much fun!!! The other three ladies are amazingly talented as well! Congratulations to all!!!
[I thought today's music was quite appropriate today ... The Fray, OVER MY HEAD ... LOL!]

THANK YOU!
I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all of you who purchased my kit. It was really overwhelming seeing all of the layouts in the galleries. Stay tuned here for more special promotions and freebies. I will also be setting up an email list in the next few days to keep everyone informed of new products and specials. If you would like to be added to that list, send me a note at Robyn@ScrapArtist.com. I also wanted to post more of the ROOTS layouts I spotted in the Scrap Artist gallery yesterday. Sibling Rivalry & The Waiting Game

These are my three sons. I know, I know ... I always post pictures of my daughter here but today it's the boys' turn! LOL! Anyway, left to right, that's Austin (age 8), Nick (9) and Mackenzie (6). Nick and Austin have always been the best of friends because they are only 14 months apart. And lately, Mackenzie has joined their little group. They are big Playstation buddies. However, yesterday I saw the first signs of sibling rivalry. At our elementary school, jump roping is a big deal. They have an "Hour Power Team" for kids who can jump continuously for an hour. (See this layout for the first time Austin made the team.) Austin was the jumping champion of the entire school last year by making the team ELEVEN times! Nick got close a few times but never made it ... and even Mackenzie had 51 minutes. Anyway, jumping has started again and this week was the first time kids were allowed to try for the hour. Well, yesterday, NICK became the first child in the school to make the Hour Power Team. Austin was not happy about that at all because he wanted to be first. Oh the tears that followed! I believe this could be the start of some serious sibling rivalry this year and I think Mackenzie may even get in on the action!
WAITING ...
Well, the Scrap Artist Apprentice contest is officially over this morning and winners will be announced this afternoon. I am excited to see which five will make it although all of the entries were amazing! I will leave my FREEBIE link active until the winners are announced and you have until tonight to post your ROOTS layouts and receive the posting bonus. (See yesterday's post for details). Check out the layout on the right that my good friend Mishou created with one of the freebie frames. I just love it! (Click on the layout to see all of the credits because she used a lot of stuff that I did not create.)
I also wanted to post more of the ROOTS layouts I spotted in the Scrap Artist gallery yesterday. Thank you to acamp58, cconley777, Digikaren, Jenny A, katg1006, liannallama, nightowl, Rikki, Scrappy Sandi, sneezyone and sznana for posting these beautiful layouts!

A Busy Day & More ROOTS Layouts

It seemed like yesterday way the neverending day! I worked in the morning like I do every Saturday. But it was particularly busy because it was the first week our members could sign up for next semester AND it was picture week at the gym. My friends at Fun Family Fotos come every semester and take individual and group photos of each of the classes. And as an added bonus, they always take pictures of my children and in the Fall semester, they take our Christmas card photo. So yesterday was the day we had these photos taken of the family. I love how they turned out and our Christmas card is going to be very unique this year! I can't wait to share it with you but that will have to wait until closer to Christmas. But in the meantime, here is a layout I created with one of the pictures of Lauren. I used Michelle Coleman's Sweet Evangeline: Holiday Flair kit for everything here.
While I was at work, Marty took the boys for basketball "tryouts" at our church. They didn't actually have to try out to make the team, they were more assessing their level so all of the teams have kids with all level players. While they were there, Lauren decided that she wanted to be a cheerleader so all 4 got signed up for something. Sounds like it will be a busy basketball season for us since they will all have different practice and game times.
Let's see, I was telling you about our busy day and I haven't gotten past the morning! When I got home from work, we had lunch and then we went to the school carnival. After that, we went to look at our new house (actually, ours hasn't even broken ground yet but there is one like ours that is in the sheetrock phase and we walked through that one). Then we did a little more driving around and finally came home so Marty could watch some football and I could do some scrapping.
BellesMORE ROOTS LAYOUTS
I am so excited every time I see a new layout with my Return To My Roots kit (on sale at Scrap Artist for $2 for a limited time). My friend Helen (Belles) wins for most unique layout so far using my kit! She created this cute little ATC for the Altered/Collage Challenge that Christine and I have going on this week at Scrap Artist. The challenge is to use a cartoon character in a layout or ATC. Helen drew this turtle by hand "way back when" and for this challenge she recreated him with vectors in CorelDraw. I think he is just adorable ... and oh so groovy! And it's funny because I didn't even realize that was the tree in my kit until I was reading Helen's credits!
Below are the other ROOTS layouts I spotted in the Scrap Artist gallery yesterday. Thank you to almostmex, Fiddlette, lilaclady, macwebgrrl, mkjean and wendyzine for posting these beautiful layouts!

Our Sweet Boy!

I know, I know ... I am supposed to be promoting my Scrap Artist Apprentice kit. However, we went out in the front yard to check on the kids today and discovered this message from our youngest son Mackenzie. What a sweetheart!
Now if you are looking for the freebie, please read the post below this.

Labels:

A $2 Kit, a Freebie and a Bonus Kit!

First of all, let me apologize for the music for those of you who are not country bumpkins like me! LOL! But I could not find a more fitting song for today's post than this song called Family Tree by Darryl Worley.
I am proud to say that I have made it to the final round of the Scrap Artist Apprentice contest. There are only 9 of us left in the contest and in the end, 5 will be selling in the Scrap Artist shoppe. So here's the exciting news ... all 9 of us have created a kit and they are for sale in the Scrap Artist shoppe for only $2 each. CLICK HERE to purchase my kit. Each kit purchase counts as a vote for that Apprentice hopeful. So technically, I should be telling you to run over to the shoppe and buy my kit ... and ONLY my kit! LOL! However, here's my actual advice ... run over to the Scrap Artist shoppe with $18 in hand and grab them ALL! You won't find a better deal anywhere. The talent in this contest is amazing and 2 bucks for kits of this quality is a deal not to be passed up!
As you can see from my preview, I designed this kit for heritage pictures and family tree layouts. I tried to create something different than anything I have seen before and this kit includes several family tree charts and unique elements and papers. However, I don't want to scare away all you non-heritage scrappers. So ... I have created an overall tree theme which can easily be used with modern-day Fall pictures. Below are a few of the layouts I created with my kit. I had as much fun playing with the kit as I did creating it! [Click on any of the layouts if you would like to see a larger version.]

A FREEBIE!

Just for my blog visitors, I have created an add-on to my Return to My Roots kit. The actual kit has one antique photo frame in it. But I have decided to give you three more frames! The preview is below and you just need to CLICK HERE to download the zip file. Total file size is 15 MB. I will leave the link active until the end of the Apprentice contest.

A POSTING BONUS!

As a way to say thank you for purchasing my kit ... anyone who posts a layout in the Scrap Artist gallery (before November 15th at 11:59pm EST) using my Return To My Roots kit will receive a bonus kit ... absolutely FREE! This kit is a quirky collection of items I have previously given away and is an introduction to my new line called ALERT THE [mixed] MEDIA! It is perfect for altered, collage and freestyle layouts. The preview is below. Once you post your layout online, simply email me a link at Robyn@ScrapArtist.com and I will send you a link to this kit. (Please post your layout in the Scrap Artist Apprentice Product gallery as well as wherever else you normally post on the web.)

I look forward to seeing what you create with Return To My Roots. I will post some of the layouts here on my blog throughout the week so be on the lookout ... maybe yours will be one of them!
